Oscar Preston – 3rd at The Youth Cup. Recently Jurassic Team member, Oscar Preston entered The Youth Cup in Manchester. Since Oscar started with our Jurassic Team and Coaching scheme we have been working on his base conditioning to bring that up to match his awesome strength and power. Oscar performed excellently! Here in his own words is what happened!

I entered the youth cup at The Depot, Manchester and was feeling strong. My aim was to get into the finals. I got the easy climbs done first to warm up, then started on the harder ones. On the cave section, I flashed all the hardest climbs but missed the last hold on the big overhang problem which I would normally get 1st time. I also failed to get the mantle problem 1st time but got both failed climbs on my 2nd attempt. After the qualifiers, I had 194/200 point and got into the finals. I was looking forward to these climbs and the 1st route was really my style and I flashed it easily. But the next 2 boulders were really tricky and although I didn’t finish them it was enough to get 3rd place overall and was happy with my result… By Oscar
