The ultimate in bouldering coaching workshops with five days of coached bouldering and one day of rest in the world famous forest bouldering area of Fontainebleau, France.
Fontainebleau is situated 50km south of Paris and can be simply described as the best bouldering area in Europe if not the world. The majority of the bouldering is to found in the forests that surround Fontainebleau, which makes for a magical and unique setting. The sandstone rock is of fantastic quality and the landings are generally soft and sandy. The 20,000 bouldering problems sometimes requires brute strength, but that is rare, most of the time you need excellent skills in balance, footwork and technique.
The unique circuits that have been developed here are colour coded, that lead you from boulder problem to boulder problem and there are literally thousands of them for every level of rock climber. From the yellow circuits for the inexperienced boulderer; to orange, blue and red circuits for intermediate climbers; and white and black circuits offer the top end bouldering experience. There are also many individual extreme problems outside of the circuits, generally graded from Font 7a and above!
We cater for all bouldering abilities on this holiday, so that you can choose the best coaching to meet your goals. Whether your goal is Font 6a or Font 8a we have designed an intensive, but well balanced learning journey of fully coached bouldering sessions to give you the best chance of hitting your goal!
With the lowest coach to boulderer ratio anywhere of 1:4 or less you can be assured of our full attention. On arrival you will have a one to one analysis session to discuss your pre-joining paper and goals with your coach, plus again each evening you will have a one to one post boulder video analysis session with your coach. You will be fully coached for 5 days, with a rest day in between, by a performance coach on the bouldering areas mainly to the west of Fontainebleau. During the workshops your bouldering will be continuously assessed and coaching will be given to help you reach your goals.
The Jurassic Climbing Academy team always stay at Fontainebl’hostel where everything is available within your dorm, private room or the camping site including WiFi. We also recommend Camping Les Pres nearby.
Each morning we meet in the common room where you may have breakfast before we leave for the days workshop. Each evening we meet in the common room where you have your one to one post climb video analysis session with your coach. From here we arrange a table for the group at one of the local fantastic restaurants where you may enjoy some of the suburb French cuisine.
On rest day we arrange a day out to the town of Fontainebleau with it’s cafe’s, shops and of course the famous chateau. Or you are free to do your own thing if you prefer.
