The ultimate in climber coaching workshops with two days of coached climbing on the world famous Jurassic Coast of Dorset, England.
Dorset and it’s Jurassic Coast is situated 200km south west of London and has some of the best Sport, Trad and Boulder climbing in the Great Britain all packed into a small area. The majority of the climbing is to be found on the limestone cliffs and quarries along the coast. With a mix of sport, trad and bouldering at Swanage, and sport and bouldering at Portland.
The sports routes are mainly single pitch, between 12m and 30m long and generally on good rock. The trad routes are single and multi-pitch, between 12m and 45m long and the rock quality and top-outs can vary. The bouldering is mainly sit starts although their are quite a number of highballs and generally on good rock.
Their are 1000s of climbs and problems covering the grades F1 to F8c, Diff to E8 and Font 3 to Font 8a. These range from slabs right through to vicious overhangs, some needing brute strength others technical brilliance.
We cater for all climbing abilities on this holiday, so that you can choose the best coaching to meet your goals. Whether your goal is F6a or F8a we have designed an intensive, but well balanced learning journey of fully coached climbing sessions to give you the best chance of hitting your goal!
With the lowest coach to climber ratio anywhere of 1:4 or less you can be assured of our full attention. On arrival you will have a one to one analysis session to discuss your pre-joining paper and goals with your coach, plus again each evening you will have a one to one post climb video analysis session with your coach. You will be fully coached for 2 days by a performance coach on the climbing areas between Swanage and Portland. During the workshops your climbing will be continuously assessed and coaching will be given to help you reach your goals.
The Jurassic Climbing Academy team all live locally, however we recommend Swanage Auberge Bunkhouse where everything is available within your dorm including WiFi. We also recommend Herston Campsite nearby.
Each morning we meet at Love Cake where you may have breakfast before we leave for the days workshop. Each evening we meet at Love Cake where you have your one to one post climb video analysis session with your coach. From here we arrange a table for the group at one of the local fantastic restaurants where you may enjoy some of the suburb Purbeck cuisine.
