Sport England Activity Survey
Sport England Activity Survey – Active Lives Adult Survey – The latest figures from the Sport England Active Lives Adult Survey shows that 27.7 million people (61.8%) of the over 16s population in England are active. Therefore they meet the Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines and do at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity each week. This means that they are gaining health benefits including a reduced risk of dementia, depression, diabetes, and improved mental wellbeing. At the other end of the scale, the survey shows 11.5m people (25.7%) are inactive and means that they do less than 30 minutes of physical activity each week.
The results were based on a sample of almost 200,000 respondents to the survey, and show that the activity levels in England are stable.
